Adjust images and elements
Dim bright images. Use the element picker to darken individual elements the theme missed.
Switch with a shortcut
The default shortcut toggles Nightfall on a site you’ve allowed: Ctrl + Shift + D, or ⌘ + Shift + D on Mac.
Privacy
Dark mode runs
on your device.
Nightfall has no advertising or analytics. Site preferences and saved element fixes stay in your browser’s local extension storage.
Optional AI mode uses your own OpenRouter key to generate a color palette. When you choose to generate one, Nightfall sends a summary of page styles to OpenRouter and a model provider. The summary excludes page text, page URLs, and form values.
The Chrome Web Store calls the API key Authentication information and the connection IP address Location. These are data disclosures, not browser permissions: Nightfall never requests GPS or geolocation access.
